Nha Trang, known for its picturesque beaches, recently saw the unveiling of Hispania, the newest gem in the culinary scene. The Gran Meliá Nha Trang proudly introduces the most upscale Spanish restaurant in the town, offering a taste of Spain enriched with the vibrant flavors of Vietnamese ingredients.

Led by Michelin-starred chef Marcos Morán, Hispania promises a gastronomic journey inspired by the successful Hispania restaurants in Europe. The event marked not just the inauguration of a restaurant but the elevation of Gran Meliá Nha Trang into a hub for haute cuisine in the city.

Ernesto Osuna, the hotel’s General Manager, envisions the resort becoming more than just a luxurious retreat. With Hispania and other upscale dining outlets like Shibui, they aim to set new standards for gastronomy in Nha Trang.

The launch event, “Una Cita at Hispania,” held on January 13th, was a VIP affair featuring a multi-course meal by Michelin-starred chefs, live music, and a surprise performance by the Do Theatre troupe. Chefs like Adrián Mancheño and Pepe Solla, renowned in Spain’s culinary landscape, joined Marcos Morán in crafting a culinary experience that showcased the best of Spanish cuisine.

Morán explained why Vietnam was chosen for the first Hispania in Asia, emphasizing the importance of high-quality products and the unique charm of the location, people, and culture. The menu featured new delights, including Spanish iberic ham croquettes and Salpicon de bogavante, a fresh lobster dish.

The event also introduced the Gran Meliá Nha Trang’s private bay, surrounded by Fairy Mountain peaks and the expansive sea. The upscale sanctuary features 94 private pool villas, five gastronomic destinations, and wellness offerings, creating a retreat inspired by the surrounding landscape.

Hispania Nha Trang’s menu mirrors the best of Spanish gastronomy, offering signature dishes from Hispania London and Brussels. The wine selection reflects Spain’s rich winemaking traditions, spanning centuries. The resort’s additional dining destinations, like Shibui, Natura, Theia, and Sal pool bar, bring global flavors to the forefront, enhancing the “Life Well Lived” ethos of the Gran Meliá brand.
